A: Usability programs, such as Lexmark Connect, allow us to gain valuable insight into the interaction between our customers and their Lexmark products. Lexmark Connect is a voluntary program that lets you share with Lexmark the ways you use your Lexmark printer or All-In-One. Your Lexmark product includes a common feature that keeps track of certain operating information, such as the number of pages printed, the amount of ink used, and how frequently product features are used. Your product also can transmit this usage data to Lexmark over the Internet. The usage data does not include any personal information about you. Lexmark respects your concerns about privacy. A: Lexmark is an industry leader with regard to recovery, remanufacturing, reuse and recycling of empty toner cartridges. From 1996 to 2003, the number of cartridges collected for Lexmark remanufacturing or recycling has increased nine times. No other manufacturer provides a broader selection of toner cartridge choices. Lexmark customers are able to purchase any of the following types of laser cartridges:

• Lexmark regular cartridges that anyone can remanufacture or recycle.
• Lexmark Return Program cartridges that provide customers with an up-front discount in exchange for their agreement to return the cartridge only to Lexmark (at our expense) for remanufacturing or recycling.
• High-quality Lexmark factory-reconditioned cartridges.

Q: How important are inkjet printer cartridges in the printing process? 

A: Cartridges are much more than reservoirs of ink. All the magic of printing is actually in the printhead at the bottom of each Lexmark cartridge. We spend millions of dollars developing specially formulated inks to maximize print quality, but we spend hundreds of millions on the technology that allows those delicate printheads to shoot ink onto paper at extremely high speed and with photo-like precision. Every time you buy a new cartridge it’s like buying a new printer.
